& FAQ

Thank you for choosing to study with me! I hope that you find your studies challenging, enlightening, and rewarding. I promise you’ll learn a lot. In order to get the most from your lessons, please understand and adhere to the following policies and procedures.

Tuition

Please inquire about current rates and availability. All payments are billed through Fons and hosted via Zoom. Simply fill out a lesson request, and we will schedule a free 20 minute meet and greet to get acquainted. Then we can easily get you all set up with a program based on your needs.

Scheduling

As soon as we connect, setting you up in the Fons system is super easy. You’ll receive an email, enter some information, and be all ready to roll for billing and scheduling. Also, their client tech support is top notch if you run into any snags.

Cancellations/Missed Lessons

In the event of absence by the instructor, the student will be credited for the lesson. If the student is absent, and cancels within 24 hours, they can reschedule, preferably within the same month.

Practice

Each student is unique. Musical goals, performance aspirations, and other activities will dictate how much time you can commit to practice. It’s much better to practice a little bit every day, than for one long session a week. Aiming for a focused practice of 30 minutes a day (or 15-20 minutes if a very young student) will make you progress much faster.

Supplies & Equipment

Make sure that your instrument and gear are in good working order, and ready for each lesson. Have any current material we are looking at, or working on, ready to go. It’s a good idea to take some notes in a notebook. You will also be sent items you can download and print, so keep a dedicated folder handy.

Attitude & Attendance

Do your best to come to each lesson with a positive attitude, an open mind, and at the time your lesson starts. There are often students booked back to back. This is going to be fun!
